It’s been 18 months since we commenced operations in Brisbane. Starting with a small consultancy office of 2 staff we quickly grew the team to 18 people to increase capacity for some exciting projects we’re currently engaged in. This has included recruiting brand new talent to deliver capabilities we’ve never provided before and additional team members to grow our existing skill-base.
We’ve recruited resources with brand new skills in the areas of:
- Drupal CMS Development, Design and Consulting
- Ansible Development
- UI/UX Design
- Dev Ops, certified with AWS certifications
- Infrastructure Management
And additional team members to compliment our existing skills in:
- Project Management
- Business Analysis
- Test Analysis
- Enterprise/Solution Architecture
- .NET Development
We’ve also formed some new partnerships with:
- Atlassian for team/project management solutions
- Acquia for Drupal Cloud Managed solutions
- The Drupal Association
- CKAN Open Data
And sponsored or facilitated some new events including:
- Drupal South
- Ansible Meetups
- AWS Meetups
Any organisation which experiences rapid growth doesn’t get through it without facing a bunch of challenges! We’ve had to relocate a few times to accommodate the growing team and of course finding the right people can often be a long, challenging process. We’ve also faced the challenges of managing a cross-functional team between our two locations in Brisbane and Hobart.
Although there has been lots of ups and downs along the way, we have nothing but admiration for our team members who have risen to the challenges thrown at them and pulled together to get through problems with an ‘out of the box’ mindset, offering some fresh, effective ideas in managing the growing pains.
With growth comes new opportunities to provide, innovate and deliver projects which we wouldn’t have been able to before. Looking forward to the journey ahead.
